LOVE the addition of HOW to YES and NO!!! What an essential difference it makes in our daily lives. 100% worth making it a habit in our personal and professional lives. Thanks for such a vital and simple insight!!!
Glad it resonated Pilar! 🙂
Thank you for emphasizing the need for focus and discipline on a daily basis. The analysis of daily activity adds a sense of organization and control in these challenging times.
Glad to hear it resonated Jonathan!
I love this. I’ve got a customer that manages by escalation, trying to bypass process and push everything to the front of the line. I find myself falling into step with this customer from time to time, which pushes me into the realm of performing the job of other departments and doing tactical work, losing strategy. Chasing these escalations isn’t doing my career any favors and it’s not a valuable use of time. I need to re-establish my boundaries and help drive my customer to calm the escalations and let process work so he can focus on the more important in his career as well.
Change “need to re-establish” to “must re-establish” and notice how much more powerful that feels Leigh 🙂
Great tip, Simon, thanks so much! It switches up nicely in my head and puts the onus back on me and what I can do about the situation. Many times in our work, we say describe things that ought to be done in such a way that it comes across as a suggestion and not as an instruction because we do not wish to upset or offend. And then that language gets incorporated in our self-talk without us even realising. Powerful advice!
Thank you Richelle and so glad to hear it resonated! 🙂
I love the hell yes or hell no concept and realizing that you are saying no to something when you say yes to something else. Lately there has been a lot of minimalistic living shows but I think one thing we could also focus on is how to do become more intentional with what we focus on doing each day. Can’t wait to start doing more of these tips and live my days more with purpose and joy.
Love it Crystal and beautifully said. Designing our life begins with designing our days. And if we live each day with more intention, by the time we retire to bed each evening, we can look back proud that we did our best.
Clear in communication and commitments are key to show your planning and decision-making capabilities. I agree it set a realistic set of tasks you can do with better inputs, Quality triumphs quantity and this will help you create your personal brand. up till now I was in a mind of saying yes to most of the things, but going forward I will start saying NO to some of these.
Well said Naveed! Anything is possible but not everything for we have but only 24 hours each day. Time is precious so treat it as wisely as you do with your money. Guard it, protect it and invest it only in the very actions and behaviours that will move you closer to where you’d like to be in life.
100% agree we have to manage these wisely. Thank you, Simon. I am feeling great that learn some wisdom from you today.
My pleasure and wishing you a wonderful week ahead 🙂
This was probably one of my favorite sessions so far! What I took away was that we have to get to the “root” of our issues, before we can progress any further: Purpose, our environemnt, our mindset and our health. I’ve always believed and lived by the statement that “anything is possible”, but having it dissected in these components helps to truly focus. I will go and do the 90 second exercise, and start journaling every evening on 3 things that I am grateful for. Can’t wait to “feel” what it’s like, and what it turns into! Thank you for your positive energy!
Thank you so much for the kind words Mary and so glad to hear that you enjoyed it!
Same. I loved it so much, I re-watched it twice.
So glad to hear you much you enjoyed it Ella! 🙂
Thank you so much Simon, this was fantastic – I took over 2 pages of notes in the 38 minutes you spoke. This was so helpful. I really like the idea of telling people why you are grateful for them. I am going to take this a couple times a week and send voice notes to people telling them why I am grateful for them and how they helped me. I think it makes both people feel better. It could be that they are having a terrible day and you left them a message saying how much you appreciate them or are grateful for them. It could turn their whole day around! Powerful!!
So glad to hear that it resonated Ashley! Expressing gratitude is such a powerful activity that it attracts more of what you’re grateful for into your life. It’s why we learn over time that happiness ultimately begins with this simple but transformational activity of gratitude. If we’re not grateful for what we already have, more will never make us happier.
Looking forward to seeing what happens with this little shift! I have followed you on Instagram so you will see more of me!
One thing that is not always weighted accurate are those things that appears during your day from everywhere and we get lose of focus just for the fast response of deal with it. Take a moment to pause and thing in the important and go for it.
Well said Ceci
Wooow. As Simon started to talked about being low in motivation I felt soooo identified.
So, today I started to do something I always wanted and enroll myself in a training I wanted to do for more than 4 years.
Still, I will have to work on my vision/purpose and see how to bring that to life, so its no just an idea or it ends with this training.
Thanks for Sharing this. really enlightening.
That’s AMAZING to hear Eileen!!! Enthusiasm, ideas and talk are common. Commitment, execution and consistency are rare. Congrats on taking that first step forward and here’s to you bringing it to life.
And keep this in mind: when you elevate the quality of your energetic blueprint through the energy of health, purpose, courage, focus and stillness, you being to make quantum leaps in every area of your life. You will rise to meet the demands of your magnetic vision and purpose, performing acts of alchemy in turning the invisible into the visible and the impossible into the possible 🙂
Thanks Simon for your words and encouragement and for sharing your experience with us and me.
WOW ! I felt like my heart was racing from the start to the end of the session. Pages and pages of notes. I have interacted with and listened to many Simon’s sessions, and I still got so much from the session. Simon never leave out the importance of human relations in all his work. Something new that I heard today that I really liked was when he spoke about Mental Energy, he said, there is no one reality, only customized reality. Greatest power we have lies in how we choose to respond to the current reality. Choosing one thought over another. I get to customize it ( and of course in the direction of what is aligned with my vision / purpose). Thanks Simon for a powerful and energized morning (for me).
Thank you so much for your kind words Wendy and so glad to hear that you enjoyed it!
This all resonated with me deeply. I’ve felt like I’m floundering and don’t really have a career, just a series of jobs. I MUST use these tips to narrow the direction in which I want to take not just my career, but my entire life. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and positive energy. This was one of my favorite sessions so far!
So glad to hear it resonated Michele! And love the use of MUST over SHOULD 🙂
So beautifully laid out, Simon, with plenty of practical tips.
Unfortunately, Burnout is rampant among executives especially the so called successful ones.
It is not something to take lightly and it won’t just go away if you “take some time off” or “tell yourself to ‘relax’. You talked about the importance of getting each of our 4 energies to an optimal level
As C.S. Lewis said: “It’s not the load that breaks you down, it’s the way you carry it.”
Thank you kind Raju!
‘We are not exhausted or tired because we do too much, we are tired and exhausted because we spend too little time on the things that bring us joy and excite us’ WOW
Absolute truth Elang! 🙂
Such a great session, thank you Simon and May. I loved this: “We are not exhausted or tired because we do too much, we are tired and exhausted because we spend too little time on the things that bring us joy and excite us”, as well as the Patanjali quote: “When you are inspired by some great purpose, some extraordinary project, all your thoughts break their bonds: Your mind transcends limitations, your consciousness expands in every direction, and you find yourself in a new, great and wonderful world.”
This interview really underscored the foundation of linking energy and purpose, and how that should be a prescription of how we live.
Thank you so much for your wonderful comment Seema! So glad to hear you enjoyed it and yes… when we discover our purpose in life, we begin to unlock one of our greatest sources of energy 🙂
