I believe in this a lot and try and practise this every day. We have a choice each day about the attitude we embrace. I believe that life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you respond to it. The only environment we have control over is our internal one, and how we react to what happens around us determines the quality of our lives.
Patricia
Thank you for reminding me of that quote about attitude. It is so true. And our attitude can influence those around us – personal or professional as they are “sprayed” with positivity or negativity.
Anusha, very true and thank you.
That’s my mantra today: “Do the best that I can.” Thank you, Anusha.
Wow – so much more than I expected. Lots to think about and excited to put this into practice TODAY. Thank you.
Thank you for this reminder. It is so easy to be critical of ourselves and judgemental. But, every time we make ourselves aware of what’s going on, we can reduce the amount of times it occurs. Thank you for this insight!
I often say “I’m doing the best I can right now”. Nice to hear others use that to get through as well. Thanks! Nice reminder
Great reminder to stop the comparison game and honor our own efforts to be the best we can be.
This was a great reminder that simply taking 5 minutes to just stop and breathe can make such a difference!
Great info! I would change the mantra to “be the best that you”. Our days are filled with what we do while ignoring our being or hoping that our doing changes our being. It’s important to merge the two and live true to “being” the best.
Thank you for reminding us that WE control our thoughts. There will be plenty of people who will judge us or criticize us fairly or unfairly. Life is easier if we love ourselves and our imperfections as we work toward doing our best each day. And some days our best is better than other days based on all sorts of life distractions.
Thank you also for bringing love into the equation. It’s a verb that requires action.
Anusha – Thank you. Your guidance helps us give ourselves a break and be kinder to ourselves. The scissor visualization tool may seem “simple,” but is not simplistic.
A great reminder that one cannot give what you do not have. So breath in, pause, breath out and let go. The action of the breath works better for me than cutting. Acknowledging that sometimes we need to be more definite with certain self judgements
I love the suggestion of visualizing scissors to cut off negative thought patterns. It’s much more concrete than suggesting we just stop negative thoughts when they appear. So easy to say, not so easy to do. I think the scissors imagery will stick with me and help me remember to put it into action.
I love your tips, your energy, and your delicate, unobtrusive self-confidence. Thank you for this lesson!
Thank you my take home points are: Being mindful with your thought generates creativity and the breathing exercise keeps one grounded and realises energy within you and it brings peace.
Thanks Anusha for the clear explanation on the difference between mindfulness and meditation! For me, taking the small steps of being present (mindful) will help me become a better meditator.
